New BCT Website and Facebook page

We are very pleased to announce our new revamped website www.belgianclubthailand.com! It’s the result of a lot of work done by the BCT Team and Ad & Web Agency, our website developer.

Our goal with this new site is to provide our visitors with an easier way to inform what the BCT does, why we do what we do, and how to get involved. We will be adding new activities on a regular basis, and feature a newsletter three times per year that will present information on current “hot topics”. Pictures of our latest events will be shown in the Picture Gallery.

We also present our new Facebook page. It will provide activities from our club as well from other clubs or organisations. If you have an interesting non-commercial activity to announce, feel free to send an email to secretary@belgiancluthailand.com. Follow us to get all the latest information on your news line.

We hope you find the new website has a fresh look, is easy to use and is informative. Please send us your feedback: webmaster@belgianclubthailand.com

Our previous activities: Film & Frites, 11 May

At our latest cultural event, the movie De Rouille et d'Os (Rust and Bone) stalked the fringes and extremes of human experience! Around 70 enthusiasts came to watch this fascinating movie and YES it is true what appeared in the press about De Rouille et d’Os: this film leaves no one unimpaired.

Luckily we were prepared so the audience had ample occasion afterwards to discuss in depth whether the orca did it on purpose or not while dipping some fries in the mayonnaise and sipping from a cold Hoegaarden Rosé.

Get2Gether @ Bottoms Up, 26 April

A nice bunch of people joined us at our monthly Get@Gether. This bar is definitely an eye catcher on the Thonglor bar strip and once inside it only gets better with the offer of draft Belgian beers: Leffe, Hoegaarden Rosé.,... The 2 hours of 'happy hour' were well appreciated and it turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. This evening ended in a very Belgian traditional way: with fries and mayonnaise of course!

Guided tour of the National Museum, 24 April

A handful of Belgians conquered the heat and joined us for a visit of the National Museum. Our Dutch guide, Annelies, did a great job and walked us through the different parts of the museum. She gave us more insight in Thai history, culture and customs.

nl-1306-05.JPG

At the end of the visit Annelies received her official guide badge of the National Museum Volunteers (NMV), since she successfully passed her first guided visit with our group! The NMV is a non-profit organization that organizes guided visits of the National museum and all money they collect from their tours go to Thai charities. One example of these charities is the 'feel Thailand' project, where blind people can actually touch and feel some parts/pieces of the Museum.

Easter Brunch, 31 March

NY01.jpg

Although Rome is not nearby, The Easter Bunny easily found his way to BKK on 31st March to celebrate Easter Sunday with us. This year’s venue, First Steps International Pre-School, turned out to be a perfect location for our kids to have a morning full of fun.

NY02.jpg

Arts and crafts, games, egg hunting and other activities kept our little ones busy enough so all grownups could catch up over some coffee and delicious Delifrance pastry. Around 50 adults and 50 kids attended the BCT Easter Brunch, all smiling faces, another successful event! You can find pictures of the event on our website.

Thanks to all volunteers who helped out, and do not miss out on our next kids event after the summer break!

We welcome comments or suggestions for improvement, please email our kids team at kidsteam@belgianclubthailand.com

We would like to thank our sponsors for the Easter brunch :
